The Rocks, Sydney
Drawings by Unk White ; text by Olaf Ruhen.

Publisher
Adelaide, Australia : Rigby | 1966

Book Blurb
Every big city has a core, a heart from which its life began and which continues to nourish it. The heart of Sydney - indeed of all Australia - is the small area known from earliest days as “The Rocks.” Today we can look back and see in perspective the people - some famous, some infamous - and the event that moulded its character.

Unk White and Olaf Ruben have combined their talents to produce a delightful album the records stages - whimsical, bitter, pathetic - in the birth and infancy of a nation. Very soon now, all that is left of those early days will be swept away by the high-rise of “progress.” And this memorial to “The Rocks” as they were will be doubly precious.
