Sister Beatrice Grant and her 1971 class

In 1961 the Brigidine Sisters opened Brigidine College in Peebles Road, Floreat (now Newman College, Marian Campus), transferring all secondary students from the old Brigidine Secondary School campus on Salvado Road, Wembley/Subiaco (est 1953).

This is a fabulous shot of Sister Beatrice Grant and her 1971 class, found in the wonderful Town of Cambridge Local History Collection.

We think these girls look like they’re in about 1st or 2nd year (Year 8 or 9), making them 1974 or 1975 Leavers, or thereabouts.

Please share, tag, and help us identify them - we’d love to know who these Newmanites are, and where they are now!

⭐️ Edit: Well done and thank you, our wonderful alumna, what a fabulous result!

We now know this is definitely the Class of 1975 when they were in Year 8, 1971 - and we only have *one* girl still unidenfied (2nd row, 4th from the left).

The identities of the girls are:

Back, L-R: Lynnette Satie, Roslyn Zempilas, Tricia Sheedy.

3rd row: Shauna O’Connor, Anna Maria Testa, Genevieve Moore, Karen Sheridan, Peta McGurk, Roslyn Stamatiou, Morena Penco, Roslyn Wells.

2nd row: Mandy Smith, Christine Reilly, Julie Perrott, UNKNOWN, Maureen O’Donahue, Marguerite Quirk, Karen Scrine, Helen Saggers.

Front: Terese Moriarty, Jillian Mongan, Kerry Sullivan, Sister Beatrice Grant, Debbie O’Sullivan, Julie Henderson (dec), Tammy Rifici.
