The Mari-dines.

In 1969 Year 11 and 12 girls from the Brigidine Sisters in Peebles Road, Floreat, began taking classes in maths, physics, chemistry and French at the Marist Brothers’ College, Churchlands.

They were called the Mari-dines.

(Edit: We had the initials and surnames of these girls, and in the original post, asked if anyone could help in providing the first names. Thanks to fabulous responses from Margaret, Christine and Terese, below, we now have all the girls' names! Thank you so much! )

Here is one class of Mari-dines, from the Marist Brothers’ 1975 School magazine. They are:

Top, L-R: Bernadette McMullen, Susan Boylen, Teresa Di Chiera, Debbie O’Sullivan, Jane Baxter, Julie Perrot, Vicki Anderton, Denise Hamilton, Anne Mathews.

Middle: Millie Britto, Yvonne Dixon, Patricia Sheedy, Diane Jasas, Janet Barron, Roslyn Zempilas, Debbie Dickson, Maura Costello, Christine Reilly, Margaret McLinden.

Front: Terese Moriarty, Shauna O’Connor, Marina Penco, Judith Luke, Joanna Barnard, Helen Cooney, Julie Henderson.
